RACE 2
1.35pm Mitsubishi Electric Schillaci Stakes 1100m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

1. LANKAN RUPEE
The Group 1 superstar is back! He has an excellent record in WFA and is a class above this field. His first up record is outstanding: 6:4-1-0. How could you not love this horse?

2. SHIRAZ
In form and flying! But is he good enough against Lankan Rupee and running in the opposite direction?

MAIN DANGER

3. The Monstar
Only 0.2L off Sabatini when resuming a fortnight ago. Has second up form.

RACE 3
2.10pm Thoroughbred Club Stakes 1200m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

2. SERENADE
Third up and ready to win. Ran a good 3rd last start in the Champagne at Moonee Valley. She was only 2.1L off Vancouver in The Golden Slipper!

4. SECRET AGENDA
Good distance record – a win and second from two starts.

MAIN DANGERS

1. HARLEM RIVER
Great record so far. Impressive trial.

RACE 4
2.45pm Perri Cutten Weekend Hussler Stakes 1400m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind speed

1. AMOVATIO
Huge run last prep in the Listed Winter Championship. He has a good first up record and has ran 1.8L off Magic Hurricane back in June, who has since The Metropolitan.

4. GOOD VALUE
Kept trying last start and got the bob. Great record at the track (5:2-1-1) and distance (11: 5-2-2). He is sneaking back up in the weights but has ran well with even more weight, 60kg, two starts ago.

MAIN DANGERS

10. TRISTRAM’S SUN
Good return 0.8L 4th behind Sabatini at $101. Gains C.Williams on board. Rarely runs bad second up and is only carrying 54kg.

RACE 5
3.20pm William Hill Herbert Power Stakes 2400m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

5. EXCESS KNOWLEDGE
Nice run last start here. Stays on a good track where his best record is. Has run 2L off Mourinho. Barrier is against him but he should sit behind the pace and can make his move when the leaders run out of gas.

3. AMRALAH (IRE)
Better run in the Turnbull than the 7th says. He was only 1.8L off the winner. He is proven at the distance and won impressively two starts ago in Morphettville.

MAIN DANGERS

8. BLACK TOMAHAWK
Too good last start, nothing could run him down! Stays down in the weights and keeps Glen Boss on board.

RACE 6
3.55pm Ladbrokes Caulfield Stakes 2000m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind speed

2. FAWKNER
He is just getting better with age and is absolutely flying. His two runs this prep have been WFA Group 1 races which is what he faces here. From barrier 4 he will be behind the pace and may prove hard to catch.

7. KERMADEC (NZ)
Top win last start. His WFA record is impressive and he rarely runs a bad race. He may not be able to catch Fawkner from the tail of the field if Fawkner runs to his best.

1. CRITERION (NZ)
He’s back! He has been running in some tough races overseas but comes back with a run in under his belt. He is proven second up and is at his best distance.

MAIN DANGERS

8. MONGOLIAN KHAN
He is getting better with each run and can run a sneaky one here. He is on course for the Melbourne Cup.

RACE 7
4.30pm David Jones NBCF Toorak Handicap 1600m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

7. DISPOSITION
I can’t fault him. He has only ran once outside the quinella when he finished 4th here back in April. The step up to 1600m is a plus and barrier 7 is perfect. There is enough pace in this for him to be there. He ran well in the Group 1 Rupert Clarke a fortnight ago and only goes up 1kg.

2. STRATUM STAR
He won the Rupert Clarke last start with only 54.5kg. He goes up to 57kg here but is good enough for this. He doesn’t have a bad record at the distance (3: 0-2-1)

1. LUCKY HUSSLER
Providing there is a lot of speed in this race he can run a sneaky one. Not a bad run last start, he didn’t have much luck.

MAIN DANGERS

13. NOBLE PROTECTOR (GB)
Dropping down to 54kg here and holds a very good second up record (4: 3-0-1)

RACE 8
5.05pm Schweppes Thousand Guineas 1600m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

6. BADAWIYA
Very impressive run last start, she was a class above them. Beat Tivaci and males two starts ago who ran well last week at Flemington.

2. MISS GUNPOWDER
She loves Caulfield and will be looking for the 1600m. She keeps C.Williams on board. Sitting on the pace she may prove hard to catch just like in the Group 2 Guineas Prelude.

1. PASADENA GIRL
Better run last start than the 5th looks. She has won at Group 1 level under set weights with H.Bowman who gains the ride back here.

MAIN DANGERS

7. STAY WITH ME
She had a huge win from the tail of the field to win by 1.5L two starts ago in the Listed Atlantic Jewel.

RACE 9
5.40pm Beck Caulfield Guineas 1600m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

1. PRESS STATEMENT
Bad barrier but he is good enough to overcome that. Stays at 56.5kg and keeps H.Bowman on board. Fantastic run last start in the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes where he won by 2L. Fantastic record overall (6: 4-1-0), his only run outside the trifecta was a 5th in the Golden Rose.

3. READY FOR VICTORY
Blinkers go on and he steps up to 1600m. Good run in the McNeil two starts ago where he was only 0.2L off the winner.

13. TARZINO
Only a newbie to this racing game but going well. Very impressive run last start here at the 1600m from the tail of the field to win by 0.8L. One to keep an eye on.

MAIN DANGERS

5. DAL CIELO (NZ)
Murray Baker wasn’t too sure about him when he bought him over but he has shown a will to fight as seen a fortnight ago here. Murray doesn’t bring his horses over here for nothing.

RACE 10
6.15pm Cape Grim Beef Steaks 1200m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just off pace

4. POLITENESS
Huge resuming run on 19th Sep here in the same class. Jumps from barrier 10 but that’s no issue, he will get an easy run off the speed.

2. BRING ME THE MAID
Fantastic first up record (3: 2-1-0), fantastic record at the distance (7: 2-1-2) and has run well in Group 1 races. She was only 0.1L off Delectation fresh last prep who has since run well behind Chautauqua.

MAIN DANGERS

3. WAWAIL
Great overall record, and has second up form. Jumps from barrier 2.
