Mornington Racecourse

Race 1
12.00pm Window Warehouse Marathon Series Heat 2 3400m
Speed: Slow
Most advantaged: On pace

7. SLY ROMANCE
He is in form, take out his run a fortnight ago. He stays in BM84 grade which suits and steps up to 3400m which he is untried at. He gets in light here at 52.5kg after the claim and maps well from a good draw.
4. REAL JAZZ

2. DELIBERATE

MAIN DANGER
1. CELTIC PRINCE
He ran well behind Signoff three starts back and wasn’t bad stepping up to 3600m last start. I don’t see the step back to 3400m being an issue. He does need to be able to carry the 60kg here.

Race 2
12.30pm No Fuss Event Hire Handicap 1200m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

3. A LOTTA LOVE
She resumed okay and has a good second up form. She is proven at 1200m and won well in BM78 grade last prep. She has beaten Estaminet. The in form Dylan Dunn takes the ride.

7. SHACARDE

1. MARLI MAGIC

MAIN DANGER
2. OUR HARMONY
She is unbeaten here and has a strong 1200m record. The 3kg claim definitely helps. Take a pen through her last run where she wasn’t in the best ground. She was good two starts back with Brandon Stockdale on and he goes back on here.

Race 3
1.00pm Martin Collins Fibretrack Mornington Sires’ 1500m
Speed: Not clear
Most advantaged: N/A

1. MR MARKOU
Stephen Baster stays on after a good ride last start. He will find this easier. Forgive his run two starts back where he drew wide and never really made an impact.

5. JAWS OF STEEL

3. SMARTSON

MAIN DANGER
2. LYCURGUS
His debut was impressive then he was outclassed last start. This is easier and drawing out suits.

Race 4
1.35pm Mitavite Challenge Final 1600m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

7. ELJETEM
He will relish the drop in weight here after four runs carrying between 60kg and 61kg. He maps well here. A soft track will suit better but he has won on dry ground.

8. NATIVE LAND

3. HOKKAIDO

MAIN DANGER
9. HONOURABLE TYCOON
He is in form and was very good with 58kg last start. He drops down to 54.5kg here and stays at 1600m. He should get an easy run just behind the pace.

Race 5
2.10pm Land Engineering Handicap 2000m
Speed: Slow
Most advantaged: On pace

4. MASTER ZEPHYR (GB)
He resumed at 1400m which was probably a tad too short for him and was only average last start when he drew in. The step up to 2000m suits and with a slow pace he can sit a little closer. Surprisingly he has wins ranging from 1750m – 2500m but this is his first attempt at 2000m!

4. GOLDEN MANE

6. NISOS

MAIN DANGER
2. VELOX (GB)
He resumed well and he is looking for the 2000m. He has a good second up record and Dylan Dunn goes on.

Race 6
2.50PM Cleanaway Handicap 1200m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

5. CALL ME CURTIS
He is unbeaten at 1200m from two starts. The 1400m in Listed company looked a tad far and out of his class last start. He drops back down to BM70 grade here. However he may need to do some work from the wide draw.

4. PRUSSIAN VIXEN

7. VEGAS BOULEVARD

MAIN DANGER
2. JUST GOT LUCKY
Can he do a hat trick? This is harder but he ran on well when stepping up to city class and has been freshened since.

Race 7
3.30pm Bayside Auto Group Mornington Guineas 1500m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

7. GOLD FIELDS
His 3.5L win when stepping up to BM70 grade last time out was very impressive. He draws out here and from a wide draw should sit just behind the leaders. I don’t see coming back to 1500m being an issue. This is his home track.

6. UNBREAKABLE

3. PALACE TYCOON

MAIN DANGER
13. BUT IT’S TRUE
His debut win by 6L was very impressive and he will eat up 1500m. Jamie Mott stays on.

Race 8
4.10pm Ladbrokes Hareeba Stakes 1200m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

2. RELDAS
He ran very well being Flamberge in the Group 1 Oakleigh then won softly when stepping back to Listed company last start. He finds himself in a similar field here but does draw wide. He does have a good record at 1200m.

5. DAN ZEPHYR

10. ROUGH JUSTICE

MAIN DANGER
7. THERMAL CURRENT
He resumed well and has second up form. He stays down in the weights here. He will look the winner at some point if the tempo slows mid-race.

Race 9
4.50pm Mornington BMW Cup 2400m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

4. TOM MELBOURNE
He is unbeaten this prep from two runs including a dominating win in the Albury Cup by 3.5L. He is untried at 2400m but judging on how he can relax in the run I don’t see it being an issue. He will be on the pace here from a good draw and should be too good again.

13. DANDY GENT

1. PUCCINI (NZ)

MAIN DANGER
5. SWACADELIC (GER)
He beat Signoff convincingly two starts back after running on from the tail of the field and ran on well in the Adelaide Cup. He has drawn okay and should get a soft run midfield.

Race 10
5.30pm Building Brands Handicap 1000m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

6. FACE FORWARD
She has first up form and is very consistent. Her overall record is good but she does comes against the boys here. Back to 1000m suits.

4. SQUEAKY SQUIRREL

7. HOTEL SIERRA

MAIN DANGER
10. THE DYNAMO
He is flying this prep and has a strong 1000m record. He steps up to city grade here and looks a good each way chance.
