RACE 1
12.40pm Inglis Banner 1000m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

9.SWEET SHERRY

Too good on debut when she showed a fight to the line. Strips fitter for that.

10. KINETIC DESIGN
Gave Sweet Sherry a bit of a fight on debut. Ran on from last.

11. PEARL CONGENIAL

She did well to stay on for second on debut. The winner and third placing came from worse than midfield.
MAIN DANGER

  1. VALLIANO
Ran well on debut. Draws out a bit wider here.

RACE 2
1.15pm City Jeep Handicap 955m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

  1. TAWTEEN
A Moonee Valley track specialist, she has never finished outside the top 3. She drops 4kg from her last start where she led until late to finish third. She has won a 955m challenge previously, carrying more weight.

  1. DIAMOND OASIS
He has been running in lower grades than Tawteen but with his record at the distance (9:5-0-1) and second up record (5:1-2-1) he will be a danger here. He drops 3.5kg and will get a soft run from barrier 5.

  1. GENERAL JACKSON
He beat promising unbeaten star Super One last start in the Apache Cat Classic. Tudor has come out of the same race and ran a good second at Moonee Valley last night. Proven at the track and distance (5:1-1-1) and has second up form.

MAIN DANGER

  1. MAGNUS REIGN
Coming from Weir’s stable which is absolutely flying, it’s impossible to leave him out. He has won twice at the track & distance and is only carrying 54kg.

RACE 3
1.50pm Alliance Broking Services Fillies Classic 1600m
Speed: Slow
Most advantaged: On pace

  1. MY POPPETTE
Drew wide last start and stuck on for 3rd. She draws an inside barrier here and have in form jockey Mark Zahra on board. She will sit up on the pace and with no pace on speed may be the one to catch in this occasion.

  1. SEMPRE LIBERA
Third up and fitter from her last run where she was only 2.8L off Speak Fondly in the Group 1 Flight Stakes.

  1. SILENT SEDITION
No bad runs in 3 starts. Fantastic from last two starts ago in a BM78. Beat Miss Idyllic by 3.8L who has since come out and won at Moonee Valley.

MAIN DANGER

  1. THAMES COURT
Strong on debut winning by 2.8L. Even effort in the Group 2 Manifold last start. Drawn similar here but strips fitter.

RACE 4
2.25pm Telstra Phonewords Stakes 1200m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

  1. HOLLER
He is flying this prep, he was only 1.8L off Exosphere when resuming in the Group 2 Run To The Rose. Ran average in the Golden Rose but has ran well since. Stays at SWP which suits.

  1. MAWAHIBB
Is proven at the track & distance, he does prefer a softer ground but not disgraced on a drier track. Getting better each run in this prep & third up here.

  1. DEMONSTRATE
Good run last start in the Group 3 McNeil where he ran 0.7L third. He was last at the 400m. SWP suits.

MAIN DANGER

  1. BROCKHOFF
Steps back to Group 3 company here and stays at 56kg. Wide barrier is not ideal.

RACE 5
3.00pm Antler Luggage Crockett Stakes 1200m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

  1. SERENE MAJESTY
Fantastic record at the distance (4:2-1-0) and unbeaten on a dry track. Keeps K.McEvoy on board after an impressive ride from last to win by 1.5L in the Group 3 Thoroughbred Club. Back to Listed grade here, gains 2kg.

  1. HARLEM RIVER
Hasn’t finished outside the trifecta in 4 runs. Two placings from two starts at the distance, both in black type. Drops back in class here and meets Serene Majesty better at the weights.

  1. LAKE GENEVA
Drops 1kg here. Not disgraced in runs this prep. She will need to lift here but on her wide Percy Sykes run last prep she is up to these.

MAIN DANGER

  1. HAYBAH
Won a BM70 last start against older mares. Led until the 400m against Stay With Me previously, who has since won the Caulfield Guineas.

RACE 6
3.35pm Melbourne Signage Concepts Moonee Valley Gold Cup 2500m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind speed

10.   BONDEIGER
He is a huge chance here dropping down to 53kg, he has never carried weight this low. He ran a good second behind Amralah last start when stepping up to 2400m and has had one run at the 2500m where he finished 0.2L behind Preferment who is in the market for the Melbourne Cup. He will get a sit behind the pace and will have a perfect run in an even pace from barrier 2.

  1. THE UNITED STATES (IRE)
Very good three starts ago here when he was battling with Chance To Dance down the straight. Good two starts ago when running second to Magnapal. Hasn’t stepped out to 2500m but the extra distance can only help.

  1. TAIYOO
Proven at the track and distance, her 2400m+ record is 5:4-1-0. His dry track form is his going.

MAIN DANGER

  1. PRINCE OF PENZANCE
He won this race last year and loves Moonee Valley. All of his wins have been on a dry track. Drops 2kg here.

RACE 7
4.10pm Dilmah Exceptional Teas Vase 2040m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just off pace

  1. TARZINO (NZ)
Held up badly in the Caulfield Guineas last start, he was pushed back to last and didn’t get clear running until the 200m. The extra distance can only help. Barrier 10 is no issue, he will cut across and sit off the pace.

  1. SOVEREIGN NATION
Good run in the Caulfield Guineas last start, he worked strongly to the ling. He won the 1600m Stutt Stakes here two starts ago.

11.  JAMEKA
Ran second behind Stay With Me in the 1000 Guineas last start from the tail of the field and is absolutely flying this prep. Badawiya came out of that race and won the Group 2 Manifold. He stays at 55kg.
MAIN DANGER
10. PASADENA GIRL
Ran wide in the 1000 Guineas and worked home for 4th. H.Bowman stays on. She ran a huge second in the Atlantic Jewel from the tail of the field when she drew barrier 11.

RACE 8

4.55pm Schweppes Tristarc Stakes 1400m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

  1. LUCKY HUSSLER
My best of the day. Absolutely fantastic run in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap where he was still 12th at the 400m. He drops down to Group 2 company here and WFA (he won the William Reid at WFA) suits.

  1. AMOVATIO
Impressive when resuming last start with 60kg. He has ran well behind Magic Hurricane who has since come out and won the Group 1 Metropolitan. His second up form is good.

11. TURN ME LOOSE
Unbeaten at the distance including his 3.2L win in the Seymour Cup last start. He backs up here and has the fitness. No bad runs since coming to Australia

MAIN DANGER

  1. SONS OF JOHN
Goes up to 59kg here but ran 0.2L off Winx in the Theo Marks two starts back. Good record at the distance (6:2-0-1) and being third up with two impressive runs he poses a threat to the field.

RACE 9
5.40pm William Hill Cox Plate 2040m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

14.  WINX
Ahh Winx, the horse who gives punters a heart attack every time she races. She’s known to leave her run to        the last second and just get to the line on time. She is unbeaten this prep, is third up here and only carrying          55.5kg. She drops 1.5kg and will sit at the tail in what looks to be a race with lots of speed. H.Bowman                  picked this ride over Preferment.

  1. CRITERION
Very good win in his first run back in Australia where Mongolian Khan ran third then came out and won the Caulfield Cup.. He stays at WFA here and jumps from barrier 7 again! He is fitter from that win and has worked well through the week. He will get a good sit off the speed.

12. PREFERMENT (NZ)
With two good 2000m runs this prep he goes into this race as a strong chance but may be looking for further. N Rawiller takes the ride.
MAIN DANGERS

  1. MOURINHO
The WFA champion! This horse just keeps proving himself with every step up he is given. He loves Moonee Valley and the 2040 (record: 4:3-0-1) but drawing barrier 12 may be his biggest downfall.

RACE 10
6.20pm GX1.COM.AU Stakes 1600m
Speed: Slow
Most advantaged: On pace

  1. CORONATION SHALLAN
Very good at big odds last week when she ran third behind Vashka. She comes back to mares grade here and is third up. The extra 200m helps. She will be on the pace and may be hard to catch.

  1. PRECIOUS GEM
Proven at the track & distance (6:2-1-0) and drops 1.5kg here. She will be closer to the speed than her last few runs and has a better chance of finishing closer.

  1. MANAGERESS
First time at Moonee Valley but not sure the tight track will suit. She is proven at the 1600m and is fit.

MAIN DANGER

12. AZKADELLIA
Big win last start at Cranbourne. She is flying this prep and C. Maher’s stable is flying!
