 Caulfield Map

RACE 1
12.50pm Yellowglen Plate 1400m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

  1. SILENT SEDITION
Good closing race last start. She had the fastest 200m of the whole day. Jumps from barrier 5 and she is on her home track.

  1. HELL OR HIGHWATER
She steps back in class after an okay effort last start. D.Oliver jumps back on board.

MAIN DANGER

  1. PEARL STAR
She ran 3rd in the Listed Redoute’s back in May at Caulfield but does need to get past a poor record on the track (5:0-0-1)

RACE 2
1.25pm Polytrack Gothic Stakes 1400m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

  1. HOLLER
Not a bad run in the Group 2 Run To The Rose, he was only 1.8L off Exosphere who then won the G1 Golden Rose & G2 Roman Consul Stakes. He jumps from barrier 1.

  1. TAKEDOWN
Proven at the distance and his best form is on a dry track. K. McEvoy jumps back on board, he was on in Takedown’s G3 Schweppervescence win.

MAIN DANGER

  1. SANTA ANA LANE
He was wide last start and won by 1.2L. Drops 2kg.

RACE 3
2.00pm Dilmah Single Origin Teas Caulfield Sprint 1000m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

  1. BALL OF MUSCLE
This is his best distance (5:2-2-1), he was only 0.1L off Buffering last start in the Moir and is flying this prep. He has never finished outside the trifecta.

  1. LUMOSTY
She has a great first up record, in light with the 54kg and will relish the dry track. She will get a perfect trail just off the speed in an even race.

MAIN DANGERS

  1. KINGLIKE
He showed fantastic talent last start winning the Group 2 Danehill. He is up against older horses here but drops to 54kg, the lightest he’s ever carried.

RACE 4
2.35pm New Zealand Bloodstock Ethereal Stakes 2000m
Speed: Slow
Most advantaged: On pace

  1. HONESTA
She is flying this prep. She ran 0.1L off Speak Fondly last start (who has ran 2nd behind Exosphere) and is looking for the 2000m. C Williams jumps on board.

  1. AMBIENCE
She keeps J McDonald on board and loves the dry track. She won her last start, the Listed Dulcify, by 2.5L. She was a class above them.

  1. WICHITA WOMAN
Big run last start from the tail of the field to finish 2nd. She is still a maiden but has ran 2nd and 3rd in both her outings.

MAIN DANGERS

  1. DAWN OF HOPE
Won her maiden by 2.8L last start, comes to town and in a harder field but she will relish the 2000m.

RACE 5
3.10pm Ladbrokes Caulfield Classic 2000m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just off pace

  1. LIZARD ISLAND
Very impressive run last start in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas to finish only 1.8L second behind Press Statement. He was on the fence there where hardly anyone was making ground all day. He drops down to Group 3 here and only gains 0.5kg.

  1. TIVACI
Good run last start but just couldn’t catch the winner. He ran second behind Badawiya two starts ago who has since won the Group 2 Manifold and ran third in the Caulfield Guineas. The extra 200m suits.

  1. GET THE PICTURE
He ran a huge second in the Group 2 Stutt Stakes from the tail of the field. Drops to Group 3 class here.

MAIN DANGERS

  1. SACRED EYE
She ran 2L off Badawiya in the Manifold and won her maiden by 3.2L.

RACE 6
3.45pm David Jones Cup 2000m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind speed

  1. FENWAY
She ran 1.2L off Delicacy, who has been in such strong form, back in May in the Schweppes Oaks in Morphettville. That race was at this distance. Forgive her run at Flemington, the race was over by the time she found space.

  1. STRATUM STAR
He has been running well at Caulfield and finished only 0.1L off Disposition in the Rupert Clarke. Down to Group 3 here, up to 59kg.

  1. DIBAYANI
Z Purton jumps on board and drops 1.5kg. He ran 1L off Mourinho in his first outing in Australia at Caulfield.

MAIN DANGERS

  1. SADLER’S LAKE
Proven at the distance and ran well when winning the Group 3 Ritchie two starts ago. He is carrying less weight than some of the main chances but keeps J Cassidy on.

RACE 7
4.20pm William Hill Moonga Stakes 1400m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just off pace

  1. UNDER THE LOUVRE
He is flying. After finishing an impressive 0.2L third in the Group 1 Rupert Clarke he drops down to Group 3 class here but only gains 1kg. Barrier 12 is no issue as he will be at the tail of the field. A big positive with M Zahra staying on. He gets the best out of Under The Louvre.

  1. WORTHY CAUSE
He is at his best distance here in the 1400m (record- 4:3-1-0). It could be a case of him breaking away from the pace and unable to be run down.
  2. SETINUM
He showed fast speed last start with the fastest final 200m split of the day (11.41). He keeps Dwayne Dunn on board who is currently leading the Metro jockey championship.

MAIN DANGERS

  1. CORONATION SHALLAN
She drops 3kg here and has second up form (4:1-0-1). She will relish the extra 200m.

RACE 8

4.55pm Schweppes Tristarc Stakes 1400m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

  1. SABATINI
Great win when resuming, off the tail of the field. She is unbeaten second up. K McEvoy keeps the ride and the fast speed is set up for her to come over the top of them all. She loves Caulfield, is proven at the distance and the dry track suits.

  1. CATKINS
One of my favourites! An average run last start but she was fantastic when resuming in the Group 3 Sheraco. Being third up she should have the fitness for this. D Oliver gains the ride with H Bowman sidelined.

  1. JESSY BELLE
She is absolutely flying this prep and deserves to win. Her distance record is fantastic (8:3-2-1) and she stays at 55kg with the SWP. Barrier 13 is no issue – she will have a soft run at the tail.

MAIN DANGERS

  1. AMICUS
She jarred up last start but was very impressive the previous two starts. She goes up to 58.5kg but did carry 58kg to win the Group 2 Lets Elope.

RACE 9
5.40pm BMW Caulfield Cup 2400m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

  1. MONGOLIAN KHAN
He impressed me to no end last start. He was ducking and weaving then came home hard in the fastest 200m of the race (11.24) to finish 3rd. He is fit, drops 3kg here and barrier 9 is perfect and he will sit just off the speed in an even tempo. He is unbeaten at the distance, both runs being the New Zealand Derby and the Australian Derby. The only horse to win both since Boncrusher in 1986. I have a very very high opinion on him.

  1. RISING ROMANCE
She ran well behind Fawkner in the Makybe Diva two starts ago. Forgive last start when she drew the carpark. She is proven at the distance and is only carrying 53kg.

  1. SNOW SKY
First up here. He has great form at the distance (6:2-1-0) and is best on the dry tracks.

MAIN DANGERS

  1. OUR IVANHOWE
He just keeps improving with each race. Has drawn a wide barrier here but drops 4kg after an impressive second in the Bart Cummings.

RACE 10
6.15pm Crown Golden Ale Alinghi Stakes 1100m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

12. VEZALAY
She is unbeaten at this distance and loves a dry track. Stays at 55kg and from barrier 3 should go close here.

  1. MISS PROMISCUITY
She is paying overs in my opinion. This is easier than her last start in the Moir. Her track & distance record here is fantastic (4:2-1-1) and she flies on a dry track. She does jump from barrier 13 which is not ideal but she is fit.

  1. AFLEET ESPRIT
She loves Caulfield and is unbeaten at the distance. The dry conditions suit and being third up has the fitness to win.

MAIN DANGERS

  1. FONTITON
Goes up 6kg here but she is a smart horse. Barrier 5 is ideal.

5. BROOK ROAD
Sound return first up and has form second up. Three wins from 4 starts at the distance and comes back to Fillies & Mares grade here.
