Caulfield Map

RACE 1
12.30pm Schweppes Handicap 1400m
Speed: Slow
Most advantaged: On pace

2. VALIDATE
Her only win was on a Soft 5 which we may get here, but she handles the dry as well. She sneaks slowly up in the weights but is too consistent to ignore.

4 JACQUI’S JOY (NZ)
First win in Australia and she broke her maiden with a good run from the tail of the field. P.Moloney stays on.

MAIN DANGER

5 MISS CLOONEY
She is third up here and been running on. She stays at 1400 but there doesn’t look enough speed for her to win.

RACE 2
1.00pm Joe Brown Plate 1100m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

5 HELLBOUND
Good win in a jumpout on December 8th.

9. CLIMATE
Last in a trial on November 23rd but she wasn’t pushed. Ran well behind Hellbound in a jumpout Dec 8th.

10. HONEY MAGIC
Ran well in a fast jumpout December 15th.

MAIN DANGER

8. PONTE ROMA (NZ)
She came home strongly on debut. This i

RACE 3
1.36pm Allan Wicks Handicap 2000m
Speed: Slow
Most advantaged: On pace

4. RING DA BELLE
She ran well when stepping back in class and distance last time out. Stepping up to 2000m here should suit and she stays down light in the weights.
2. TO BE HONEST
She is third up here and has a good record at the 2000m. She can handle both dry and wet ground.

3. YELLEN (NZ)
She is flying this prep and the pace should suit. She ran okay when stepping up to this class last time out.

MAIN DANGER

1. SABOR A TRIUNFO (CHI)
The 60kg is against him here vs the other entrants but she has a strong second up record and is proven at the distance. Have to respect the Weir stable.

RACE 4
2.11pm Ken Sturt Handicap 1400m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

2. WHISTLE BABY
She comes back to restricted grade here and has second up form. She won well when resuming with C.Symons on board and the in form jockey stays on here. Her record of 3 wins from 10 tries at 1400m is good and she should be hard to beat but has no wins in the wet.

6. MARLI MAGIC
She ran on pace last time out and couldn’t be run down. From barrier 4 and with only 52kg after the claim it looks like she will have a similar run here. The even pace will suit her.

9 ANAPHORA
She has no wins at 1400m but generally runs well and has three placings from 4 tries. She has won here.

MAIN DANGER

1. DANESTROEM
She steps up in the weights here but won strongly last time out. She has won at the track and the distance before and can handle the wet. She jumps from barrier 1 and will get an easy run up on or near the pace.

RACE 5
2.46pm Dennis Hanrahan Handicap 1100m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

2. CELERITAS
She finished strongly last time out to win at 955m, the step up to 1100m here looks ideal. She will sit mid field and with an even pace should be the one to beat.

3. PINK PERFECTION
She resumes here and generally runs well first up. She will be up near the speed.

1. BRAVE JOURNEY
All of her wins have been at 1100m and she should benefit from a bigger track here than Moonee Valley last time.

MAIN DANGER

6. SENTFROMTHESTARS
She drops 7.5kg from her last run here with K.Mallyon’s claim and the Ellerton/Zahra stable is flying! She ran well in Listed company back in October.

RACE 6
3.25pm Frank O’Brien Handicap 1200m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

2. COOL SNITZEL
She is unbeaten this prep. She beat a good one in Heatherly last time out and the step up to 1200m looks ideal. She stays at the same grade and is allocated top weight but will only carry 58kg after M.J.Dee’s claim. From the outside barrier she will be just behind the leaders and with a fast speed predicted she should be too good here.

13. NICCOCO
He ran on strongly in a similar race last time out and his only win has been at 1200m. A dry track would suit him best.

1. BADAJOZ
Third up and looks ready. He drops 3kg with the claim. He placed in Group 3 company last prep.

MAIN DANGER

4. TYRANNIZE (NZ)
He is unbeaten this prep and does sneak up in the weights but did win in a similar race last time out quite easily. His only run on a wet track was in his second race where he sat on pace but got run down.

RACE 7
4.05pm Cape Grim Beef Handicap 1800m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

1. GOLDEN MANE
He ran okay when resuming then came out to win strongly second up. Being rated over the Benchmark he is carrying top weight but has a 3kg claim with Dylan Dunn riding. He stays in the same class and the extra 200m should suit. He may need a bit of luck from an inside barrier with a large field and sitting mid field but he is good enough to win here if he has clear running.

4. FIREHOUSE ROCK
His record here is hard to ignore (6: 2-1-3) but he has no wins at 1800m from four tries. A dry track would suit him best.

11. LEICA DAY
He is in form but has drawn wide here. He does have time to work across though and no doubt will be running on strongly.

MAIN DANGER

10. WARRIOR KING
He won well when resuming and has second up form. He is unknown at 1800m but has placed at 2000m in this class very impressively.

RACE 8
4.45pm The Cup Club Christmas Stakes 1200m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

3. OFFICE BEARER
After two good Listed runs in this prep (both at 1000m) he looks ready to win here at the 1200m. With an even pace he will be sitting perfectly in mid field and has drawn well with barrier 5.

4. RELDAS
He ran well behind a good one during the carnival on a soft track then ran soundly last time out in Listed company. His record at the distance is impressive.

9. WRITTEN UP
He is third up and is only carrying 54kg. Some of his best work has been on a wet track and he ran much better last time out off the pace.
MAIN DANGER

8. TADDEI TONDO
He was very impressive at the start of the month from the tail of the field to finish second carrying 61kg. He goes down to 54kg here and if there is enough pace he will be running on.

RACE 9
5.25pm Swettenham Stud Lord Stakes 1700m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

11. TASHBEEH
He is flying this prep and drops 3kg here. No tries at the 1700m but his win last time out at 1600m shaped up like 1700m wouldn’t be an issue. The speed should suit him, he will be just behind the leaders and should be too good here.

7. PRECIOUS GEM
No wins at the track or on the wet but she won well with C.Symons on board a fortnight ago. He stays on here and will be in the finish.

3. JACQUINOT BAY
He tends to like running 4th lately and is too consistent to leave out. He will jump from the widest barrier and may need to do a bit of work to get up near the pace.
MAIN DANGER

9. GARUD
He drops down to 54kg with G.Boss on board after his average effort last time. He has two wins from 4 tries at the 1700m and should get clear running behind the speed.

RACE 10
6.03pm Swettenham Stud Summer Championship Heat 10 1400m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

5. DUKE OF BRUNSWICK
He has drawn wide but comes in a few after the scratchings. With his impressive record at the distance (5: 1-3-1) and second up record (3: 1-2-0) he should be hard to beat. He has won on a dry track but three from 4 of his wins have come on a soft track. With a fast speed predicted he will be off the pace and will be running on strongly.

7. VOLCANIC ASH
He is unbeaten at the track & distance. He is third up here and should be fit enough to be competitive. He drops to 54kg after M.J.Dee’s claim.

4. CHESTNUT CHARLIE
He has been running consistently minus his last race where he was lame. He is definitely one to include in multiples.
MAIN DANGER

8. LIVE FOR TODAY
After his very strong 3.5L win in BM70 grade last time out he should be competitive here. He drops 6kg down to 54kg after the claim, has won second up and at 1400m. He has been freshened up here.
