Caulfield Map

RACE 1
12.48pm Louise Chapple Plate 1000m
Speed: Not clear
Most advantaged: N/A

3. CHINA DREAM
By Snitzel. He won a jumpout on December 29 and looks smart.

4. GATLINBURG
He looked good in a jumpout just over a week ago.

MAIN DANGER

1. MOSHWAY
He resumes here after a good debut back in October. He hit the front but got run down, he was at decent odds that day and looks to be a similar price today. He is by Moshe, a full brother to Black Caviar.

RACE 2
1.22pm Chris Boothroyd Handicap 1600m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

4. ANAPHORA
She’s flying this prep! She was freshened 3 weeks before her run on Boxing Day where she raced keenly but finished off strongly. She comes back to BM84 grade here and up to 1600m suits. I don’t see her getting too far from the leaders with the small field and she should be hard to beat.

5. YELLEN (NZ)
She comes back to 1600m here which suits better than the 2000m last time out, she has a good record at 1600m. She will be up near the pace and will give them something to chase.

MAIN DANGER

6. KANIANA
She won her maiden softly in her second run back this prep and has strung together a further two wins since. She is a lightweight chance with only 52.5kg after the claim and will get a soft run on the pace. If they slow down mid-race she is definitely a chance.

RACE 3
1.57pm Swettenham Stud Summer Championship Heat 7 1800m
Speed: Slow
Most advantaged: On pace

3. TASHBEEH
He ran on soundly in Listed company last time out and comes back to a BM90 here. With the predicted slow speed he may have to work some magic but he is an honest runner. He was competitive in Group 2 company back in November.

4. MASTER RESET
He was only average in Listed company last time out after a solid win in the Wodonga Cup previously. He looks to be the on speed leader here.
MAIN DANGER

5. RIVER’S LANE
The 9 year old has a sound record at the distance and is third up here. He only just missed out on the bob last time out in this class. I’m not too sure on the drop back to 1800m on the back-up. He will sit closer to the pace here.

RACE 4
2.32pm Helen Cox Handicap 1800m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

6. FLYING LIGHT
He’s in form and comes back to 1800m here. There looks to be even pace through the race, he will be up on the pace and will take some catching. He ran 3rd to Mahuta in Listed company back in October. He ran strongly last time out when he drew wide and ran wide for the first few hundred metres.
1. YULONG BABY
She recorded a good win in F&M BM90 grade and drops to BM78 against the boys here. She sneaks up in the weights but is too consistent to ignore.
3. BULLISH STOCK
His win with 60kg last time out was good and he drops to 55.5kg here. He was no match in his two listed runs earlier this prep.

MAIN DANGER

7. O’LONERA
He won his maiden well two starts back by 5.2L then ran on soundly in a BM64. He comes to a BM78 here and drops 7kg with the help of the claim. He will be off the speed but if wound up he must be included.

RACE 5
3.07pm Jack Dunn Handicap 1200m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

2. CHASE THE HORIZON
The Moody trained colt is fit and looks ready to win this. He stays at 1200m as he has at all of his 5 starts to date. He has finished second behind Golden Spin in his last two outings and gets the weight swing to his advantage here. From an inside barrier he will be up on the pace and could take some catching.

1. GOLDEN SPIN
He is unbeaten at 1200m and has strung wins together in his last 3 runs. He comes up to top weight here but has a 2kg claim from T.Sadler. He will sit mid-race.

6. HE’S A MORAL
He resumed and won his maiden then ran on strongly in BM64 grade at 1200m. He drops to 54kg here third up and must respect the Weir stable.

MAIN DANGER

3. MAGNA ROSSA
She is against the boys here but is unbeaten this prep. She will sit mid-race and should get clear running with the small field and even pace.

RACE 6
3.42pm Timothy Rourke Handicap 1400m
Speed: Slow
Most advantaged: On pace

3. GIGGLY
She ran on soundly in her first start then come out and won her maiden by 3.5L last time out. She comes back to 3yo grade here. She will be on the pace and with a slow speed predicted should be hard to beat.

4. MAJESTIC LASS
She resumed this prep winning her maiden in town then ran on soundly in a BM70. She’s third up and backing up here. 1400m looks like it will suit.

7. MISS CLOONEY
Her record at the distance isn’t bad, she has been running on soundly. She jumps from a wider barrier here and should get clear running.

MAIN DANGER

1. JACQUI’S JOY (NZ)
She has strung together wins in her only two starts in Australia and looks smart. She comes back to a drier track here but may need to do some work from the tail of the field in the slow pace.

RACE 7
4.22pm Ewen Stafford Handicap 1400m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

4. THE NEW BOY
He has ran soundly behind smart ones in his last two starts and this looks easier. The speed of the race looks even and he will be up near the pace, he has drawn wide but should get an easy run.

6. TUFF HOST
He doesn’t have second up form but did win his resuming race this prep. He steps up to 1400m here and will be running on.

9. FAST APPROACHING
She ran well third up behind a smart one last outing but comes against the boys here. She has won here at 1400m and the step up in distance from her last run suits.

MAIN DANGER

2. BEL RHYTHM
He does have 60kg here but generally runs on well. He has been freshened up 5 weeks and comes back in grade.

RACE 8
5.02pm Billie Swan Handicap 1200m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

7. DUKE OF BRUNSWICK
He is flying and third up here. He goes up in grade here but drops down to 54.5kg. He should get a soft run from barrier 3 just behind the speed and with a face pace predicted should run on strongly. He has a great record at the 1200m (4: 2-1-0)

4. TADDEI TONDO
He was good two starts back with 61kg then went to Listed grade and ran on well behind a good one. He comes back to BM90 grade here and will be running on strongly in the fast pace. He is a great each way chance.

6. KIEVANN
He won in BM82 grade in Adelaide by 2.4L, this looks harder but he is fit and in form and sure to look the winner at some point.
MAIN DANGER

9. HERSTORY
She resumes here with only 52.5kg after the claim. She has a strong first up record and does run well at 1200 but comes against the boys here. The speed of the race may be against her but with no weight she must be included.

RACE 9
5.32pm Swettenham Stud Summer Championship Heat 8 1600m
Speed: Slow
Most advantaged: On pace

8. VOLCANIC ASH
He is unbeaten at Caulfied and is flying. His win last time out where he beat a good one was strong and he can go on here. He drops down to 52kg after M.J.Dee’s claim and if sits closer to the speed he should be hard to beat.

7. SADAQA
He drops 8kg here after a sound effort last week. He looks to be the leader here and could take some running down. He does like the 1600m.

5. FAST AND FREE
He was freshened up last time out and ran soundly behind Volcanic Ash. He drops to 54kg but the pace could be against him.
MAIN DANGER

1. STAR ROLLING
He is the class horse of the race. He ran 4th behind Signoff in Listed class last time out and keeps similar weight here after the claim His record here and at 1600m isn’t bad and he should get an easy run from barrier 2.
