Ballarat Racecourse

RACE 1
12.25pm Easywaste Handicap 1100m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

13. MR LIBERTY
Two runs both for seconds this prep so far including a good run last start when freshened up. This race maps well for him, he will be off the pace from the wider barrier and could prove hard to catch.

8. OSTERIA
Flying this prep. He kept fighting for the line last start and will get a similar race here. Finished 0.1L behind Kayjay’s Joy back in August who went on to string two together in much stronger races in town. He has drawn well with barrier 4 here.

2. JUDGES
Good record at the distance and hasn’t run a bad race yet. He can handle the high weight but the barrier may be against him. A definite each way chance but he’s probably not paying enough for the place.

MAIN DANGER
4. BERLUTTI
Should be fitter for the run and was good last prep however there may be too much speed for him here.

RACE 2
1.00pm Eureka Concrete Handicap 1200m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

4. LITEN PRINSESSA (NZ)
She has a fantastic record at the distance (4: 3-0-0) and is absolutely flying. She sneaks up a bit in the weights but she will get the perfect run behind the pace.

9. ESTAMINET
She started this prep with a very impressive 6L maiden win and been running up to each grade that is thrown at her. She has drawn well with an inside barrier here and keeps B.Melham on board.

1. SARI
Running well with big weights but has drawn poorly here. The claim will help here and she will be running on.

MAIN DANGER
16. PENNY TO SELL (NZ)
She ran 2.2L off Manageress in her final run last prep who was competitive during the carnival. She comes in light with 54kg here and has won on this track.

RACE 3
1.35pm Sam Miranda Handicap 2300m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

2. PURPLE SMILE
Back slightly in distance here should suit. He ran well previously at 2400m in a tougher race. This is easier.

18. CARBON CUT
She generally runs well at the track and is in light with 54kg here. Backing up from 15/11 here.

15. HIGH DESIGN (NZ)
Running well and back in distance here helps. She drops 3.5kg here.

MAIN DANGER
3. SAMMY THE SNAKE
Good last start and gets further here. He hasn’t raced at 2300m before but has won at 2400m.  He will be up on the pace and could get run down.

RACE 4
2.10pm Thomas Jewellers VOBIS Gold Eureka Stockade 1400m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

15. ORVASSA
Drawn wide but that’s okay. She was wide last start, sat off the pace and ran well. That was in Listed grade, this race is easier.

4. REZAK
Won his maiden well last start and keeps J.McNeil on. He has drawn for a similar run here but this will be harder. He ran 4th behind 1000 Guineas winner Stay With Me in his first outing.

1. REGAZZO DEL CORSA
Not bad in Group 1 class last start. He should get an easy run on the pace here and is well weighted.

MAIN DANGER
3. APOLOBOOM
This is the longest prep he has had. He won his maiden well when resuming but was average last start in Listed grade. This is easier and he will have gained good fitness from that run. A good each way chance.

RACE 5
2.45pm Magic Millions 2yo Clockwise Classic 1000m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

11. SHE’S POSITIVE
By Sepoy. Going good in jump outs.

8. BRING ME THE BLING
Won a clockwise jumpout here.

5. ONE BLINK
He has good breeding and ran well at a clockwise jumpout.

MAIN DANGER

6. PREFERITO
Third in a trial at Randwick. Trained by Gai Waterhouse and has underrated jockey Vlad Duric on. A good combination.

RACE 6
3.25pm IGA Liquor McKellar Mile 1600m
Speed: Slow
Most advantaged: On pace

14. LEICA DAY
He’s at his home track here and won at this distance last start very impressively which would have raised his confidence. There appears to be very little speed in this race and he will be up there and should be hard to beat.

7. SHOW A STAR
Good record at the track and unbeaten at the 1600m. He was good when resuming and drops down in grade here. She will also be up on the speed. The 2kg claim from J.Childs helps with the allocated 60.5kg.

4. MANAPINE
Won in Listed grade last prep and has a good first up record. However, there may not be enough speed here for him to win.

MAIN DANGER
8. BAJOUR (NZ)
Freshened up here. Good in his first Australian run when he won a BM64. This is harder but he can go on.

RACE 7
4.00pm Magic Millions 3&4yo Classic 1000m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

11. WILD RAIN
Very good behind The Quarterback in the Listed Dilmah during the carnival when resuming. This is a lot easier but she has drawn wide. Her record at the distance is fantastic and should override the wide barrier.

1. HUSSON EAGLE
He has an outstanding first up record and has won at the 1100m. He will be behind the pace and should get a soft run from an inside barrier. He was competitive in Group 2 class last prep.

3. ILLUSTRIOUS LAD
Great first up record. He is a very genuine runner and rarely runs poorly. He will be competitive here. A definite for multis.

MAIN DANGERS
2. NORDIC EMPIRE
Unbeaten first up. A very genuine sprinter.

RACE 8
4.40pm Sportsbet.com.au Ballarat Cup 2200m
Speed: Even
Most advantaged: Just behind pace

16. UNGRATEFUL ELLEN
She has been competitive in Group company this prep and finished 1.8L off Lucia Valentina during the carnival. This is easier. She stays down in the weights and has drawn better here. She should get an easy run just behind the speed.

15. MUJADALE
Unbeaten at the track and distance. Drops 4kg here but has no wins on a soft track from 7 tries.

3. PRINCE CHERI (FR)
He has been average on his two tries anticlockwise but did pull up lame after one of them. Went back to Sydney and ran fine. He has been freshened up here.
MAIN DANGER
6. CRAFTY CRUISER
He has been known to pop up when least expected. Drops 5kg here and generally runs well at the track.

RACE 9
5.20pm Isuzu Handicap 1400m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

2. DURENDAL
Ran well when stepping up in class during the carnival behind a good one. He stays at the 1400m but drops down to a BM84 here and should be competitive. He has won on a soft track.

7. CLAIRVAUX
He has won first up. He was flying last prep when he strung together two good starts finishing 1st and 2nd beating some very good horses.

14. SOCIETY MAN (NZ)
He has had two good runs in this prep so far and should be in the finish here. He has a good record at the distance but hasn’t won on a soft track.
MAIN DANGER

10. PROFIT SHARE
Third up here and progressing well. No wins at the distance from 6 tries but this is his home track and Weir may just have him ready to win this.

RACE 10
5.55pm City of Ballarat Tonks Plate 1200m
Speed: Fast
Most advantaged: Off pace

1. RED BOMBER
He has a fantastic record at the distance (4: 3-1-0) and first up form. He has won on a soft track but if we get up a track upgrade that is fine, 7 of his wins have been on a good track. He will be off the speed and there looks to be enough speed in this race for him to come over the top and win.

13. GALLANT HARMONY
Good record at the distance and is probably looking for further than his last two starts at 955m. He is a light weight chance with only 51kg after the claim.

11. WEINHOLT
He is proven at the track and 4 out of 5 of his wins have been at the 1200m. He ran well during the carnival behind a good one in Malaguerra who went on to win again on Stakes Day. He drops 2.5kg here after that run.
MAIN DANGER

7. MAGNUS REIGN
He was very good at his last 1200m start back in February where he finished 2nd. He is third up here after two average runs in (though one was on Oaks Day after the major downpour on a Heavy 9) but he will be competitive if fit enough.
