Race 1
11.40AM George Watson Hall of Fame Trophy 1400m
Predicted speed: Not clear
1. VASSILATOR (NZ)
He was an impressive winner third up here last month at triple figure odds and Beau Mertens stays on here. He has drawn well.
4. WINNING PARTNER
He resumed soundly making ground late and the extra trip looks like it will suit. Tony McEvoy has a good record with 2yo’s.
5. ZOUTORI
He ran on well first up and will be fitter from that run.
SAVER
3. BRONSKI BEAT
He won his maiden well last start and has the fitness to be competitive here. Brad Rawiller goes back on and going off his last two starts he should slot in just off the main speed.
Race 2
12.20PM Karasi Hall of Fame Trophy 1200m
Predicted speed: Even
4. GREY SHADOW
She was a nice winner when coming to town last start and can go on here. Her three runs to date have been good and her only “miss” (a close second) was when she led. She’s third up, has drawn wide (can be a positive down the straight) and can go on here.
3. TWITCHY FRANK
She won here earlier in the year with Ethan Brown on and he goes back on here. She should be up near the speed and gets a bit of weight relief.
1. EGYPTIAN BULLET
She is third up here and has won her last two outings. This is another step up but she is an each way chance.
SAVER
6. MISS VIXEN
She comes back to 1200m after a sound run over 1440m last week. She’s quite consistent and does get back. She shouldn’t be too far away down the straight and Beau Mertens stays on. She gets a bit of weight relief.
Race 3
12.55PM National Hall of Fame Handicap 1600m
Predicted speed: Even
14. ÉCLAIR CALLING (NZ)
He was very good second up at Caulfield last start when he was wide and made good ground late finishing only 1L off the smart Flying Murty. He gets out to 1600m here and has drawn better. He is definitely up to BM78 company.
1. BOXACHOCOLATES (NZ)
He ran a good second in his Australian debut and has a good 1600m record. Mitchell Aitken stays on and his claim helps with the 60kg allocation.
8. ANOTHER BULLSEYE
She was a good winner here last start over this trip and grade finishing over the top of Galaxy Raider who is flying this prep. She has drawn barrier 16 in this but she is in good form.
SAVER
7. NOTIO
He ran well behind a smart one last start and has placed in both of his starts here earlier this prep. He’s a very consistent horse and was only 1L off Kings Will Dream here over this trip in February. He has drawn well.
Race 4
1.30PM W.A. ‘Billy’ Smith Hall of Fame Trophy 1800m
Predicted speed: Slow
2. QUICK DEFENCE (USA)
He ran well here a fortnight ago and goes up a bit in the weights coming back to restricted grade. He looks close to a win and this isn’t a deep field. Without a strong speed on paper he may sit a bit closer.
9. LAUGHING HEIR
He was a strong winner with 60kg last start over this trip and drops down to 55kg with the step up in grade. He tends to hold form once he finds it.
7. JAKE’S HILL (GB)
He ran on well in his Australian debut here a fortnight ago and the extra trip is going to suit him. He will be better from that run.
SAVER
3. CARRAIG AONAIR
He’s third up here. He got too far back first up and was never a danger then ridden up on the speed last start but tired late. He ran a solid second here over this trip during Cup week. Fred Kersley goes back on, he’s riding well for Lindsay Park.
Race 5
2.10PM Poitrel Hall of Fame Trophy 2000m
Predicted speed: Even
1. BOOM TIME
He resumed in fantastic form only missing by 0.2L and if he produces that run here he will be hard to beat. He has a good record at Flemington and runs a solid 2000m. From the good draw he should be up near the speed.
4. OBSERVATIONAL (GB)
He ran on solidly last start when stepping out to this trip and can go close here. He does mix up his form but can string a few good runs together.
10. LIZARD ISLAND
He had the fitness and run last start to win well. Beau Mertens stays on for this and he has drawn well again.
SAVER
9. HURSLEY
He looks close to a win and does run well here. He gets a bit of weight relief and a good record over 2000m.
Race 6
2.50PM Hilton Nicholas Straight Six 1200m
Predicted speed: Even
1. RICH CHARM
He’s a very good horse and very honest. He is a group winner down the straight and is definitely up to this. He does hold form well and his win last start was very good.
4. MALIBU STYLE
He stepped back in trip down the straight here a fortnight ago and was a deserving winner. Fred Kersley stats on and he should be up near the speed.
6. OZI CHOICE
He’s consistent and resumed with a sound run on the soft. He has a good 1200m record and should be up on the speed.
SAVER
12. DIVINE QUALITY
She resumed this prep with a strong run, making ground late to finish only 2L off the smart Creativity. She is a very consistent mare, has second up form and is proven down the straight.
Race 7
3.30PM Andrew Ramsden Stakes 3200m
Predicted Speed: Even
2. SWACADELIC (GER)
He’s in good form and will be running on strongly here. He has placed twice over this trip including a 0.4L second behind Fanatic in the Sandown Cup. He wasn’t far off Gallic Chieftain in the Warrnambool Cup last start on the wet and he’s just as effective on the dry.
9. RUNAWAY
He was a strong winner here two starts back in the VRC St Leger leading the whole way. He certainly wasn’t disgraced in Group 1 company last start only being run down late. This is easier and he gets a bit of weight relief. He will be up on the speed from the good draw.
4. SHERLOCK HOLMES (IRE)
The blinkers went on last start and he won well. He did have the perfect run, was out to the right trip and no weight. He likes Flemington and should get a good run again here.
SAVER
8. CHARLEVOIX
He made good ground late last start and seems to be improving with each step out in trip. He can be a bit hard to catch but off his last start run he’s an each way chance in this. Jye McNeil stays on.
Race 8
4.10PM Colin Hayes AM, OBE Hall of Fame Trophy 1400m
Predicted speed: Even
6. KEN’S DREAM
He has a good record here and is in good form. He comes back to 1400m which is no negative. He has drawn out a bit but does tend to get back so that’s no issue. He is definitely up to this field.
7. SO SI BON
He has run well in the past, he just needs to keep his mind on the race and not trying to bite other runners going past. Jordan Childs goes on.
4. LA BELLA DIOSA (NZ)
The So You Think mare makes her debut for Lindsay Park with Fred Kersley taking the ride. The winkers go on, she is a good fresh horse and has won twice over 1400m.
SAVER
5. MOSS ‘N’ DALE (NZ)
He is unbeaten second up and runs a solid 1400m. He gets a bit of weight relief with Jack Martin’s claim and has drawn well.
Race 9
4.42PM Chris Waller Hall of Fame Trophy 1600m
Predicted speed: Fast
1. ICONOCLASM
He’s absolutely flying having won 4 of his total 6 starts to date. Ethan Brown stays on after a solid win here a fortnight ago. He steps out to 1600m in this but should get the perfect trail just off the main speed.
3. MASCULINO
He made ground late when resuming and the extra trip looks like it will suit. He drew wide there and has barrier 1 in this so he should sit closer here.
4. GROUNDBREAK
He ran well here last start and meets Iconoclasm better at the weights. He is quite consistent, his only average runs have excuses.
SAVER
2. LORD SUNDOWNER
He has a great overall record and has resumed well this prep. He put in a solid run here last start and can go on from that.
